Make it up
Like all marriages, ok just most of them, we have financial issues. Money will always be a major factor in all marriages whether it is how to spend it, how to save it or how to get it. I always say that you have to have something wrong in your life to make it interesting. If it isn’t your love life it is money, if it isn’t money/job it is health or a mixture of the three. We both have good health, most days… and we have plenty of love.. most days. What we don’t have is the money. Because of this issue, we have really become connoisseurs of making something out of nothing in the kitchen. It has really become an art. Its becoming the master of what the hell do we actually have and what could be edible. It has actually started to be a game between my husband and I. We try to beat each other each day.
Day one: I yell to my husband. “We have ramen, eggs, canned chili, velvetta shells n cheese, beef, taco seasonings, torillias, sour cream and corn.” After a long sigh he’s yells to me, “Throw ramen and beef and taco mix, lets see what happens.” After laughing, we pause- an eyebrow raises. Then we cooked it. Seriously once you are done laughing… try it. It looks disgusting. Surprisingly, It is actually good. I always top mine with sour cream and I cut the noodles so it is easy to get a small bite. Food should be fun.. right?
Day Two: I yell to my husband. “We have ramen, eggs, canned chili, velvetta shells n cheese, beef, taco seasonings, torillias, sour cream and corn.” My husband sighs and says, “We had ramen last night.” So with that response I know it is my decision the rest of the way as he has decided that we are NOT having ramen. I needed to figure out what we WERE having. I throw together velvetta shells n cheese and corn and chili. Yes it is awesome! Sounds yucky, but it is just a cheesy chili and the corn just goes through ya anyways.. gives you your vegetable. LOL!
Seriously my husband and I have the worst diet. We can’t afford to eat healthy, so we gave up. Plus I have come to a realization that as long as I am healthy and not fat I will be ok. I just don’t want to be one of those body conscience bitchy women that hates themselves for having a slice of cake! Honestly I just don’t have enough time to self loath. I might not be a size two, but as long as I stay under a size 10 I am happy. If I get to a size 6 I will throw a party..eating the cake will bring me back to size 8 but fuck it.. its worth it!
Eating what I want keeps me happy and that keeps my husband happy and that is the key to a happy marriage. I have seen people be in GREAT moods then the next day they come back to work a WRECK. I ask them what happened and they said that they went another week no sex and if they have sex the lights are off. It is frustrating they have to argue with their partner telling them they look good. Honestly if you are repulsive, they aren’t even going to try. I understand the body conscience part, I too wonder from time to time (24/7 time :D), but I just got tired of it and if he doesn’t like me for who I am, well I don’t have time to argue. I will pack my bags and go… to a gym. Its the last 5 pounds.
I can feel like a million dollars at 115 and at 125 feel like a cow. 9 out of 10 times it is the clothes though. I could wear two things that same day and my mood will completely alter! So I have to be careful. I don’t want to go from happy to sad. I got to the point I throw away my favorite clothes because they are just too small. It is sad and horrifying, but I look at it this way.. they were probably out of style 6 years ago anyways and if they make me sad, why keep them just because they made me feel great last year! Anyways, Rambling.. I do that. I just wanted to shout out to the couples out there. If you don’t know what you are doing.. just make it up as you go.. make it fun.. make it sexy.. but try not to be so serious all the time. Life is too short to be a worry wort (I am telling myself that over an over again while thinking about the bills..haha)!
